  Many are quite familiar with the disgusting need for approval so desperately sought not only by Little Shaftee but many of the other goofy shinkendo senseis. Yukishiro Obata could post a picture picking his nose, and shaftee and the usual suspects would all do the "facebook like" like good little boot lickers. But it seems as if Shaftee was asked perhaps not to like the posts there, because he hasn't "liked" anything in a few days, and normally he posts a LIKE within seconds of whatevever Yuki nonsese is shared.   Well how low can a martial arts dojo descend? Confirmed reports have come in that Little Shafty, the proprietor of what so many consider to be the worst dojo around, has been offering to cut deals with students to use his dojo for their own personal interests providing they go out of their way to post positive reviews about his crap school, in an effort to undo all the honest and no nonsense expose's on the serious drama and nonsense that has gone on their for years, inevitably leading to 10 of the his students all dumping that dojo in the past few months. First it was silly pro Boston shinkendo reviews on Yelp, then he engaged former student known as "Jimmy Yelpster" to rant and rave postively, recently he had that over the hill BRINGT turde aka bob, post more "family run dojo" nonsense on Google reviews...   This notification was plastered on Boston Shinkendo Facebook page by some dumbass. It  states that they will be conducting tests on December 6th an (note the misspelling), 13th. The question we have is with almost all of the actual real students having dumped the Boston Shinkendo dojo, exactly who is going to be be reaching out? Is this guy in fantasy land? Or is he assuming that the small remaining amount of students and any uninformed new students will actually be testing?  What a sad sad story the Saga of Boston Shinkendo is.   Well it appears there will be a light at that end of the tunnel for prospective students of Japanese swords arts in Boston, with upcoming New England Museum of Martial arts and Budokai. The NEMABU association is actively seeking a location for their post pandemic museum and dojo to be operational in early 2021. NEMABU is slated to be a full blown museum showcasing martial arts arms and armaments from Japan, China, Korea, and South East Asia, with a strong focus on Japanese Samurai culture, history and the crafts work involved with forging swords and armor. Visitors will get to see both antique weapons, as well as modern versions, with interactive video experiences, and scheduled workshops and demonstrations. Boston Shinkendo Students hold annual Summer party but ditch the lame Sensei! It was reported to be a FULL HOUSE of current and former Boston Shinkendo students who attended their annual summer barbecue this year. The party is usually a festive one with good food, and special activities, last year we are told it was a blacksmithing event, this year was a full on Tameshigiri party. Conspicuously absent from the party was Shaffee aka "Little Shafty" and this was by design.  This sensei is so despised and disliked by current and former Boston Shinkendo students that they all voted to DITCH him and not send an invite to him or his kids. Emails, comments and discussions continue to be had about the infamous Boston Shinkendo Dojo and its Sensei, "Little Shafty"   ( one whom many describe as a loon ), are all over Social media. So we thought we would interview some former students and caught up with several of them this past weekend at one of the "Gathering of Former Shinkendo Students". Here is some paraphrasing of what we learned. 1.)  "I remember we used to do an annual Christmas party and Shafty would setup a table in the dojo with himself at the head, and he would first put on this brown Kimono type vest and array himself as if he was a feudal lord. He would them preside over the party with pseudo Japanese mimicked pomp and circumstance, making a total BUFFOON out of himself. In a recent interview with a "former"  Boston Shinkendo student we discussed the Katana skills of the instructor and students. Here is his opinion of the skill level at that dojo: "Ok, let me first say this, splitting that lame dojo and getting far away from that idiot shafty was the smartest thing I have ever dumb. Joining that school in the first place was clearly the dumbest. We all make mistakes and you learn from them I guess... I won't go on about all the things that in my opinion suck about that school, there are tons of those reports all over social media. I will talk about a time back in 2019 when we did a Tameshigiri exercise in the dojo, this was before the infamous nightmare Horror at Honbu Dojo trip. Shafty was billing this day as some great favor to the students and how it was a such a great honor for us to be cutting wet tatami mats for the first time under his great tutelage. By now, anyone even remotely familiar with all the idiotic antics that occurred regularly at the Boston Shinkendo Shoshinkan dojo , knows that the Sensei there is a bit of a dumb ass. One day after a boring class and the obligatory circle of students, the time Shafteee used to pontificate about his own self perceived importance, students were talking about the construction of Japanese Katana. Well old Shit-For-Brains-Shafteee told the students that Obata was the one who invented the use of (2) two mekugi pins to hold the tsuka (handle) in place. LMAO, despite the fact that you can find thousands of photos of ancient swords, going back hundreds of years with two Mekugi pins, this dumb ass claims Obata invented it... Interviewer : So is Boston Shinkendo really that bad? Student : Yes!
